Let us , first of all have a little bit knowledge about this city.
City was established in 16th century by a kshatriya named JagatSingh .He had two sons,Bansu Dev & Barel Dev.These two brothers established Bareilly district in 1537 .
The city is also know as Bans-Bareilly ( in a name of two princes: Bansu Dev & Barel Dev ), sons of Jagat Singh Katehriya
City is located near Ramganga river, 252 kilometres (157 mi) north of the state capital, Lucknow, and 250 kilometres (155 mi) east of the national capital, New Delhi. It is the seventh-largest metropolis of Uttar Pradesh.
Bareilly is also known by the name of Nath Nagri (city of Lord Shiva).
Seven Lord Shiva temples are located in the city namely – Dhopeshwar Nath, Madni Nath, Alakha Nath , Trivati Nath,Pashupati Nath, Vankhandi Nath and Tapeshwar Nath.
City is famous for its fashion designing work Zari Zordari , Bamboo works,Surma manufacturing work, Manjha patang works .
Bareilly also is a religiously popular destination namely for its world famous "ALA HAZRAT Dargah"
Bareilly is also known as JHUMKA city due to a famous Bollywood song
“JHUMKA GIRA RE BAREILLY KE BAZAR. MEIN”
PRIYANKA CHOPRA, DISHA PATNI are some celebrities of this city.
Bareilly is a strategic location for the Indian Airforce.
Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) and Northern eastern railways (NER)DRM office is located at Izatnagar.
City is well connect by railways, roadways and airport.
It is a gateway of KUMAUN.
NANITAL , JIM CORBETT National Park ,PILIBHIT Tiger Reserve are the nearest tourist places.
