Izzatnagar is a famous place and is situated in the western part of Bareilly district located in UttarPradesh ,India. Its comes under Bareilly Lok Shaba constituency & Bareilly Municipal Corporation. The name of this station was named in the name of Sir Alexander Izat ,a   Scottish bridge engineer & director of Bengal & North Western Railways.

In Bareilly district there are three railway stations namely Bareilly Junction, Bareilly City station & Izzatnagar Junction.

Izzatnagar junction is come under Northern Eastern railways DRM office (Divisional Railway Manager).

Its headquater is in Gorakhpur and  was formed on 14 th April 1952 , managing railways operations in the northeastern part of country. Out of 18 zone of Indian railways it is one of them.

Izzatnagar Railway Station was established during the British colonial era as part of the expansion of the Indian railway network. The station played a crucial role in connecting various regions of northern India. The station's construction was likely undertaken as a part of the larger effort to connect different provinces and facilitate the movement of people and goods across the country and one of the important railway stations in the Northern Railway zone of the Indian Railways. It falls under the jurisdiction of the Moradabad Division. The station serves as a key hub for both passenger and freight trains, contributing to the transportation infrastructure of the region.

In 1875 under Izzatnagar division meter gauge track between Izzatnagar and Pilibhit was laid down by the East India company.

Railways established hospital, schools, stadium, quarters for railway employees & officers in this division.  It is a popular residential place for railways employees and their families.

The station serves as a key hub for both passenger and freight trains, contributing to the transportation infrastructure of the region

Over the years, Izzatnagar Railway Station has likely undergone various phases of modernization and development to keep up with the changing needs of rail travel and freight transportation. Total four platforms & five tracks are available in this station. Earlier before electrification in 2021 ,in this track diesel engine & before that steam engine trains were running on this track. In 1875 under Izzatnagar division metre gauge track between Izzatnagar and Pilibhit was laid down by the East India company .The conversion from meter gauge to broad gauge was started in 2016.

In this division during meter gauge era, India one & only bride was located on river Ganga on Kachla bride where  railway track and road was located on a single track.

Facilities: This  station offers basic amenities and facilities to passengers including clean station, ticket booking counter for reserved and unreserved passenger ticket, waiting areas, refreshment stalls & restrooms, escalator & foot over bridge for passengers to move from one platform to another.

This station is a gateway of Kumaon hills of Uttrakhand..From Izatnagar to Kathgodam junction tourist travel by train to visit famour tourist place Nanital .Along with Nanital ,tourist visit Bhimtal,Nauchuchia Tal,Sattal and China peak.

Famous Sherwood school is also located in Nanital. Many renowned people including film star,government official etc had taught in this college.

Tourist also travel from this station to Ramnagar station to visit Jim Corbett Park national park..

From this station tourist also visit to Pilibhit station to visit Pilibhit Tiger reserve in which there is a famous Chuka Beach is  present.
